Our genotyping services include regular PCR genotyping, Gene Master CG Assay for CRISPR-Cas9 animals and SNP genotyping, Taqman assay, and PCR product restriction.
Regular PCR followed by electrophoresis on agarose gel is the traditional method to determine the genotypes of transgenic, knockin and knockout mice. It is very reliable and easy to identify contamination.
ealtime PCR with labeled probes has been widely used for SNP and regular genotypings in human and other species. This fast and specific assay does NOT require electrophoresis and therefore is environmental friendly. However the expensive probes used in Taqman assay significantly increase the genotyping costs.
Gene Master CG Assay
As a new approach to identify variations in DNA fragments, Gene Master CG Assay can be utilized to genotype SNPs and mice generated by CRISPR-Cas9. Special softwares and very sensitive realtime thermocyclers are used by Gene Master for CG Assay. If needed, sub-cloning and Sanger sequencing services for CRISPR-Cas9 animals and cell clones are available.
PCR product restriction
Enzyme restriction is another traditional way to determine the DNA variations in PCR products or genomic DNA. Mice generated by CRISPR-Cas can be genotyped by this method too. However, enzyme restriction is time consuming and expensive.
